Akash is an excellent takeaway Indian place in Southfields. It's also very convenient to Wimbledon (...take note tennis fans!) Their menu is very varied, prices are in line with London takeaway prices (remember that is more expensive than most other cities), and the personnel are friendly. My only reservation is that I think I was slightly overcharged if I add up the prices listed on their menu in comparison to what I paid .... but then again as usual I didn't say anything so I can't 100% say I was. Anyway lets get to the good news - the food. Last week I was coming home late and felt like just grabbing some takeaway food. I got the lamb achari here (absolutely delicious) with some Naan bread (light and fluffy). A mint sauce and a couple of papadoms were thrown in (maybe they were the extra charge although I didn't ask for them). Anyway let me repeat what I wrote above - the lamb achari was incredibly tasty! I've been to Akash before, I'll be there again!
We've tried a lot of Indian take aways in the area and this is by far the most delicious. We've ordered more than 10 of the curries over the course of a few months and everything has been fantastic - though be warned if it says sweet it will be sweet. Too sweet for me so I'll avoid those curries in the future! Portion sizes are the best of any I've seen as well. I'd recommend ordering online though. A different person has answered the phone almost every time and some of them could do with some customer service lessons. It is take away only. I guess that's why it's not super expensive either.
The best indian takeaway in Southfields! We will never get curry from anywhere else. Great food, great service.
